"YOU’VE GOT A FRIEND IN OUR LODGE"

Howie Lonskey, WM | Jay Drick, PM Treas. | William New, PM Sec

MAy 2008
Hello Brothers:
I hope you are all well. We had a great Spaghetti dinner, raising $2,409.00, and will give Arc a check for $1,693.00. I believe we may have had our biggest turnout. Thank you, brothers, for your terrific support with the dinner. Our next fund raiser, the Antique Show, is coming up this month. I know I can depend on your help on May 17th with this event.

We have about 4 new petitions and will have some degree work to do. Our gun raffle tickets are in and we will be selling those any chance we get. Hope to see you soon.

The Trestle Board, as follows:
  • May 7th 7:00 pm Regular Communication
  • May 17th 9:00 am - 2:30 pm Antique Appraisals
  • May 21st 7:00 pm Master Mason
  • June 4th 7:00 pm Regular Communication
  • June 18th 7:00 pm Master Mason
In an attempt to reduce monthly printing and postage fees and increase our charitable funds for scholarships and other contributions, we are exploring the possibility of distributing the Trestle Board electronically. If you would like to receive yours by e-mail, please provide your e-mail address either at the lodge webpage or to one of the officers. If you prefer to continue receiving yours by mail, we will continue to do so.

Thank you for your support.
Fraternally,
Howie Lonskey, WM

From the Secretary

Happy birthday to These May Brothers. Homer Wooden, James Swartzell, John Thiel, Jach Pomeroy, Dale Smith, Clay Bartsch, Dale Pebley, Robert Watson, Donald Minix.
Congratulations Brothers

Brothers, those of you who still owe dues for 2008, would you kindly remit them to this office as soon as practical, Dues are due and payable as of January 1st each year in advance, Thank you.

As you may or may not know, the Temple Board raised our rent 40% this year after forgiving the last 3 quarters of 2007, that’s one of the reason’s for the raise in dues this year, and possibly again for 2009, That would add another $10.00 to the Dues structure, and that’s also the reason for the fund raisers.

The Spaghetti Dinner fund raiser for ARC of Livingston County was a huge success raising $1903.00 after expenses, all of which goes to this cause, the only monies the Lodge takes is that of the cost of materials we have to purchase, congratulations to those officers who hustled and got this done. Great Job !!!!!!

Brothers, our next fund raiser will be the Antique Appraisal on May 17th along with this event I will be there selling tickets for one of our next fund raiser’s which is a Sporting Arms Raffle which will take place on the Saturday of Melon Fest, August 16th. (Sporting Arms = Politically Correct)

We would like to sell all 1,500 tickets for this State Licensed, and Grand Lodge Approved Raffle !! With a minimum of 1,300 tickets to be sold necessary to furnish the prizes. First Prize will be a Thompson Center Encore, Second Prize will be a Remington 700BDL Rifle in 7mm Remington Magnum, Third Prize will be a Remington 870 Express Combo Shotgun, and Fourth Prize will be a $500.00 Gas Card. If we sell less than 1,300 tickets the raffle will revert to a 50/50 raffle with 3 drawings for the portion not to the Lodge. 25%, 15%, and 10%.

Please help make this a success, if you live out of state, and are still interested, we will arrange to have the prize sent to a legal gun shop near you, so please do not hesitate. Please make sure to read the fine print on the ticket before selling to someone you may not know personally, the firearms dealer will have to call and make a check before transferring the firearm to the ticket holder.

I will be sending 3 tickets to everyone with a return envelope for the stubs along with payment, or return of the tickets, which ever you prefer.

If you wish to return the tickets, and would rather make a donation to the Lodge, please feel free to do that also.

Reminder, Make all checks payable to Howell Lodge #38 with a note as to what the check is for. Respectfully and Fraternally,

William New P.M.
